An unforgettable break and intense journey to discover the wonders of Giza, the GEM and historical markets!
Arrival in Cairo Arrival at Cairo International Airport, where you will be welcomed by our assistant who will take care of the entry formalities. Once completed, you will be accompanied to the exit where the reserved vehicle for the transfer to the hotel will be waiting for you. Check-in, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast at the hotel, our expert Egyptologist will guide you on a day dedicated to discovering the wonders of antiquity.
We start from the Giza plateau, where the legendary pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Menkaure testify to the grandeur of the architecture of the IV dynasty. You will explore the suggestive Valley Temple and admire the famous Sphinx, the imposing guardian of this complex.
Afterwards, a lunch in a restaurant near Giza will take you to Sakkara, located 19 km away, where you will observe the Step Pyramid of Zoser – the oldest pyramidal structure in Egypt (2750 BC) – with the possibility of exploring its interior. The stage continues with a visit to the suggestive Serapeum, a fascinating underground complex that houses monumental granite and diorite sarcophagi, made for the sacred bulls.
Finally, about 15 km from Sakkara, the tour will continue to Dahshur, where you can admire the pyramids of Pharaoh Snefru - father of Cheops. Here you will discover two fundamental stages in the evolution of pyramid architecture: the Rhomboidal Pyramid, famous for its still visible original covering, and the Red Pyramid, the first truly "complete" pyramid that is in contrast in beauty to that of Cheops.
After an intense day of discoveries, return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, the tour will take you to discover the vibrant atmosphere of Cairo, a metropolis where over 23 million inhabitants live in a mix of history and modernity.
The itinerary includes a panoramic stop at the historic Saladin Citadel, built during the Crusades and a royal residence for over 700 years. You will then continue towards the Qarafa – the “City of the Dead” – a unique place in the world, where ancient mosques, mausoleums and madrasas dating back to the time of the Mamluk sultans blend with the daily life of the inhabitants.
The route continues through the historic center of Cairo, between ancient walls and medieval gates, to end the morning in the lively souk of Khan el-Khalili, the most famous market in the ancient city.
After lunch in the center, the afternoon will be dedicated to visiting the GEM – Grand Egyptian Museum, the most modern museum in Egypt, located near the pyramids of Giza. Here you can admire the obelisk and the colossus of Ramses II at the entrance, and discover a collection of over 100,000 artifacts spanning centuries of history, with the complete treasure of Tutankhamun as the highlight.
The day will end with a return to the hotel in the late afternoon, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel and check-out, transfer to Cairo International Airport for the flight back to the place of origin, taking with you the memory of a short but intense and unforgettable experience.
